This project involved an existing retirement village that required upgrade to provide improved facilities for the occupants including lift access to all independent living units. The existing building had unusual logistical challenges as the structure consisted of a rectangular shape with a large internal courtyard in the centre of the facility.
The perimeter of the courtyard was fully confined by the building. All upgrade works were being undertaken in the central courtyard. In addition, the building was to remain fully occupied during the works. Detailed solutions for construction methodology, materials handling and safety were critical to the successful outcome of the project. Impact Group was able to deliver a suitable strategy for this difficult challenge.
