This 18-storey building consisted on 162 apartments and commercial space on ground floor. SGCH are a long-term asset holder and this project injected a further 162 homes into the affordable housing market. The building was constructed in the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and yet was completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule due to our collaborative approach to methodology and programme with the Tier 1 building contractor. The design achieved compliance with Silver Level of the Liveable Housing Australia Design Guidelines. The external façade also incorporated beautiful Aboriginal artwork to acknowledgement of the history of the land. Our experience in the role as Superintendent under the ‘Design and Construct’ building contract ensured that the Occupation Certificate was issued in accordance with the new Design and Building Practitioners Act.
