The primary school project formed part of an overall masterplan for the site. The client’s brief was to create a new school for 420 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Impact Group was engaged from the outset and managed the development of the design. The client wanted a bespoke design including a covered building that incorporated collaborative learning spaces that would attract students from across the local area. The Council approval included a Voluntary Planning Agreement to provide road crossings, street lighting upgrades and new footpaths.
The procurement process for the building contractor including an Expression of Interest to ensure the best contractor, Reitsma Constructions, was engaged. Construction of the school was complex and delicate due to the live environment in which the works were being completed.
